It can be used with Leica, Nikon, Pentax, Sokkia, Topcon and Trimble total stations, provided your instrument allows you to select or manually enter the correct prism constant. Always confirm the prism setting before beginning precision monitoring work.
Use +17.5 mm for Leica instruments. For Nikon, Pentax, Sokkia, Topcon and Trimble instruments, use −16.9 mm. These values reflect the different prism constant conventions used by instrument manufacturers.
The equivalent offset is +17.5 mm under the Leica convention, or −16.9 mm under the convention commonly used by Nikon, Pentax, Sokkia, Topcon and Trimble. Enter the value that matches your total station rather than converting it yourself.
The magnetic base allows the prism to be positioned securely on suitable steel or other magnetic surfaces. It is useful where a compact, repeatable monitoring point is needed without installing a conventional prism pole.
